About
Christopher R. Oram: Nevada's Premier Litigator in Major Crimes
Christopher’s extensive trial and appellate court experience has positioned him as one of Nevada’s premier litigators in major crimes, garnering widespread media attention for many of his cases.
He commenced his career as a trial lawyer, specializing in defending the most serious criminal trials. In his 20s, Christopher had earned the qualifications to represent individuals facing the death penalty, making him one of the very few attorneys qualified to try capital murder cases under Nevada Supreme Court rule 250. Over the past three decades, he has served as trial counsel for approximately 23 death penalty trials and approximately 50 murder trials. Christopher has also argued in front of the Nevada Supreme Court on at least 30 occasions.
In addition to his trial experience, Christopher has fiercely litigated appeals and post-conviction remedies, resulting in the overturning of many convictions. As a result, he is frequently sought out by other attorneys for his assistance and experience in serious major criminal cases. (A list of some of the more notable reversals and acquittals is available under media/press.)
In 2019, Christopher was inducted as a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only fellowship of exceptional trial lawyers in the United States and Canada.
